Hosting and security

Cloudflare, Inc. hosts and delivers this website. To serve pages and protect the site, Cloudflare processes technical request data, which can include your IP address, requested URL, time of access and browser information. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in running a secure, working portfolio. Providing this technical data is necessary to connect to the site. We do not maintain a separate visitor IP log or use this information to identify prospective clients.

Limited website statistics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand visits, popular pages, referring websites, countries, device and browser types, and loading performance. This helps us improve the portfolio. These are statistical reports, not a list of identifiable visitors. Visits are not a count of unique people.

Cloudflare states that Web Analytics does not use cookies, local storage or fingerprinting to recognise visitors over time. Its analytics reports do not provide us with visitor IP addresses, and query strings are not included in these reports. This does not mean that your IP address is absent from the network connection needed to send a measurement.

We use this limited measurement for website quality and effectiveness, under the exception for analytics with no or minor privacy impact in Article 11.7a(3) of the Dutch Telecommunications Act. To the extent personal data is processed for this purpose, our legal basis is our legitimate interest in understanding and improving the site. We do not use these statistics for advertising profiles or combine them with customer records. You may object by contacting us.

Cloudflare makes the previous six months of analytics available. Its documentation describes seven days of unsampled measurements followed by sampled data. This is not a promise that all provider data is deleted after six months. We do not keep a separate visitor-level analytics database. See Cloudflare Web Analytics and its retention information.

Your choice about external videos

External video players are off by default. Choosing “Allow YouTube & play” or “Allow Vimeo & play” gives permission to load that player for the current page. You can keep it off and still use the rest of the site. We do not save your choice for later visits.

Once loaded, the provider receives your IP address, browser and device details, and playback activity. It may use cookies or similar storage and process data outside the EEA, including in the United States. YouTube is provided in the EEA by Google Ireland Limited; Vimeo is provided by Vimeo.com, Inc. YouTube uses its privacy-enhanced player and Vimeo uses do-not-track mode. These settings limit some tracking but do not remove all data processing.

Our legal basis for loading the external player and the associated data sharing is your consent. Use “Stop video & withdraw permission” beside the player to remove it and stop further requests from that player. Withdrawal does not undo earlier processing or delete storage already set by the provider. Its purposes, retention and international-transfer arrangements are described in the Google privacy policy and Vimeo privacy policy.

If you contact us

If you email or call, we use the contact details and information you provide to answer your request and, where relevant, prepare or carry out an assignment. The legal basis is taking steps at your request before a contract or performing that contract; for other correspondence it is our legitimate interest in responding. Email is currently handled through Gmail, provided by Google. We retain correspondence for as long as needed to handle the request and relevant follow-up, and retain business records for applicable legal retention periods. Please do not send sensitive information that is unnecessary for your request.

Providers, transfers and retention

We use Cloudflare for hosting, security and the statistics described above. Its data-processing terms form part of its service agreement. Cloudflare operates internationally, including outside the EEA. Its published terms provide for the EU–US Data Privacy Framework for covered transfers and EU standard contractual clauses where applicable. See Cloudflare’s data-processing terms and privacy policy. You can contact us for information about the safeguards.

Technical hosting and security data is retained by Cloudflare according to the service purpose, security needs and legal obligations described in its policy. We do not configure a separate long-term access-log archive. The analytics reporting period is described above; video-provider retention is governed by the linked provider policies. We do not sell visitor data or add advertising pixels. Social-media links connect to those services only when you follow them.

Your rights

Depending on the processing, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your personal data, object to processing based on legitimate interests, and withdraw consent at any time. We normally respond within one month. Contact [email protected]. You may also complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority. We do not use this website for automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.
